During the original Desert Storm, Topps introduced a set of Desert Storm Trading Cards. The U.S.S. Ouellet was featured on card number 61. Thanks to Al Coby for submitting it!

While Desert Storm I was raging in the Middle-East, the Ouellet was keeping close to her homeport of Pearl Harbor Hawaii. The war did not last long enough for FF-1077 to be a part of it. The Ouellet usually accompanied the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Constellation when she deployed on a Western-Pacific Deployment, commonly called a "West-Pac". During those times, there were usually  Carrier Battle Groups stationed to cover the Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf. There was a Carrier Battle Group on station near the Persian Gulf, a Carrier Battle Group returning from this duty, and a Carrier Group on its way to the Persian Gulf. It could take 2-3 months to reach the Persian Gulf from the West Coast of the United States, so Desert Storm I just didn't last long enough for the Constellation (and possibly the Ouellet) to be part of the rotation.
